Default Reaper not rendering all MIDI tracks

Title is self explanatory, I have a song with about 12 MIDI tracks. When i try to render, Reaper is only rendering some, but not all, of the MIDI tracks.

Any tips and tricks?

Next thing I'm going to try is to bounce all of the MIDI tracks into audio and try to render the audio but before I do that I want to know if this is a commonly known issue with any solution.

well, not really, there are several different options for rendering in Reaper.
Can you give more details about what it is you are doing? Are you trying to render tracks as stems?

ok, and is it any particular VSTis that aren't rendering properly or is it a random selection?

Well I think it must be a random selection because it is the same VST on all 12 tracks (different patches obvi).

If I render all these MIDI tracks as stems I assume it will not include the FX sends?

no. but you could do them as their own stem, if desired

the first thing i would try for your initial problem would be to do an "online" render, if you haven't already

This worked on the 3rd try with "2nd render" checked.

Still PO-ed, wondering why this problem exists.

BTW rending each track, one by one to stem, didn't work either, Multiple notes missing from render, etc.

As this is an unusual occurrence, we really need more info / data to be able to help.

Which instrument plug-in and patches are you using?

Maybe you can cut down the project to a few bare that shows them problem, then post it here as a ZIPped-up attachment so that we can have a look and see what's not happening?

Or even just a section of a single track.

Just add to DS, you can also post your system specs etc ...

Also, have you tried installing a portable version of Reaper? Anywhere on disk, but not in your current reaper folders! Set up the VST paths to your plugins, and then open up your project and try the render.

This way you (and us!) know there's no config issues and we can dig down and isolate the problem. If it works on the portable install, then we will need to get to the bottom of the config issue.

I'll try to do this asap.

BTW is there any reason why buffer settings should affect render? I can't think of why this should be the case but I'm just wondering ...

... I was wondering too ... we don't know the VSTi either, which could be the problem ... it's unusual, so would be useful to know the outcome ..
