Default Squashman!

So this turned up in my Reapack, with a big DO NOT USE warning so obviously I used it lol. So its a multiband drive + limiter by the looks of it. Very exciting to see a new plug from sai'ke

Hahaha, I'm glad you're excited, but I would really recommend waiting a while. Well, that is unless you like to see it grow.

Right now, it is utterly unfinished and not even beta at this stage. The entire slider layout and such is very likely to completely change, so all your presets would break. Most planned features aren't implemented yet, etc. etc.

I'll post about it when it is closer to a usable state

Haha, yeah, I guess I turned all the other bands off during testing.

Hopefully, it'll be more than a glorified bandpass when it's done!

But yeah, so far, it's just 0-5 bands cut up with 2x2-pole crossover filters (80 dB/dec).

Since I want this one to be relatively transparent when no distortion is being added I made sure that all the signals stay nicely in phase. This limits somewhat what kind of craziness I can do to each band, but hopefully I'll be able to make it into an interesting plug nonetheless.

The bigger picture will be to add different saturation modes (some based on code in Filther) and some basic dynamic processing. But it's still very early days, so uh, please, no bug reports yet. This is pre-alpha

Still workin' on it

Plug splits incoming signal into a customizable number of bands using fairly steep 4-pole crossover filters. I verified that the structure I use maintains phase coherence via a null test. Each band can then be driven independently and treated with different types of saturation (tanh, soft, harsh, crossover, fuzz, sine, etc).

I did find some nice data for some crossover distortion and fitted some curves to this (happens to be the waveshaper active in the selected band in the screenshot) and also some other pedal gain transfer curves, but I would always be interested in having more different types.

Changelog:
- Bands can be added and removed with outer mouse.
- Each band can also be solo'd and muted now.
- Band selection in implemented
- Different distortion modes are implemented.
- Selecting a band is done with LMB, this shows the waveshaper for that band.
- Mute is inner mouses on the node, solo is outer.
- Dragging the horizontal line changes the gain.

Next up, allowing selection of the distortion and getting rid of all the sliders

I should probably make a new thread for this when I get closer to release tho

Note though that slider mappings may still change as the plug progresses, so if you can't wait and want to use it in a project already, make sure you make a separate copy of it at the version you need.
