Default Kamikaze Project - Wish me luck

My main guitar is a Schecter telecaster bought in parts 1982 and have been my darling ever since.
But it's heavy like no other. My old back can't take it anymore.
The body is Imbuya, so I think why not exchange it with a body of lighter wood?
So I bought a a new body at https://www.guitarbuild.co.uk/ in Alder.
Now I need to paint it.
Never paint a guitar before.
Why not a sunburst?
What could possible go wrong?
I guess.... EVERYTHING.
Still, here I am, just done my sanding sealer, so on sunday I start the coloring.
WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!

I don't know anything about imuya and never heard of it. But if it's heavier then it's probably more dense, which usually gives you more sustain.

Ha! Brazilian Walnut (southern rainforest). Definitely a heavy brute, but tone has to be special.
I'm only a piano guy so all my guitar chops are from Orange Tree Samples.

Good to see you Tod.

So now it's finally finished. Only intonation and small setups left.
Old body: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h38vzi0wse...aster.jpg?dl=0
New Body: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wolpszgou0...aster.jpg?dl=0

and it's so much lighter.
I haven't played too much, so I'll see if the tone changed.

Thanks. I really liked it when it was new, but that was 1982, so a change was welcomed
