This version includes everything? 5.966pre2(x64) also includes other stuff like, global hotkeys, embedded FX UI in TCP, Track Wiring, AI Transisition time, where Pre1 didn't.

Ah, that's my mistake, sorry! I'll rebuild pre2 now with just the stuff it is supposed to have in it.
... done.

No AI transition time, no global hotkeys, no track wiring or no embedded FX UI in TCP, here !

Does this mean that the 32 bit and 64 bit versions are diverging? Have they already and I missed the memo?

Just wondered an approximate number of unknown and known code branches you have currently (I guess they are just a minor branches for 5.x dev cycle).

When you enter a value manually, the filter does not display the selected note. In version 5,963 this works correctly

I'm not sure where this started but I think it was on this pre cycle. Now changing inserts order on the master track scrolls the mixer.

The action 'Envelope: insert new point' used to select the new point, but does not anymore
This Bug was there in 5.965 dev0119 and it disappeared in 5.966 Pre 1. But its back on 5.966 Pre 2.
Developers can you pls fix this ?

Is it possible you downloaded pre2 before it was updated? Probably I should have uploaded the new build as pre2a. Can you go to help/about and check the revision ID? If you don't see 0d2a56, as in this screenshot, can you re-download pre2?

Testing my scripts with the new pre releases.
I am having a huge performance hit in the reaper.Undo_EndBlock() function in 5.966 pre1 or pre2 win x64
It works well in 5.965
test code:
Code:
local timedebug=reaper.time_precise()
reaper.Undo_BeginBlock()
local timedebug2=reaper.time_precise()
reaper.ShowConsoleMsg("\nAfter Undo_BeginBlock: " .. tostring(timedebug2-timedebug))
reaper.Undo_EndBlock("undo block", -1)
timedebug2=reaper.time_precise()
reaper.ShowConsoleMsg("\nAfter Undo_EndBlock: " .. tostring(timedebug2-timedebug))
this is the result in the console window:
After Undo_BeginBlock: 1.2074306141585e-006
After Undo_EndBlock: 3.3082212083827
notice the more than 3 seconds delay. It is instant in 5.965
This has to be something related to the ARA thing. I am worried that ARA will bring some instability or new bugs for those who don't have ARA2 plugins. Maybe there should be a way to disable all ARA compatibility if you don't have ARA plugins installed. Not sure if it would be possible.

What's in that project? I doubt this has anything to do with ARA support, which has zero effect on non-ARA plugins.

Yeah what's in the project? For almost any project here that code runs instantly..

Hi Justin and schwa, I'll see if I can do more testing on a clean new project and send it to you. This project has three Melodyne instances (not my project) But I have just seen that if I remove the Melodyne plugins, then Undo_EndBlock() is fast again. I also have seen that with more Melodyne instances, the time increases, by 1 second aprox for each molodyne instance.
It is good that if no Melodyne is used, then this doesn't affect users that doesn't have Melodyne.

drag and drop (gtk2)
Drag and drop from spacefm(gtk2) to REAPER(libswell gtk2) has never worked.
The drag icon shows, but on release REAPER just locks up, no messages in console.

I'm not sure if this is fully documented (if not we'll add it), but the flag passed to Undo_EndBlock() controls how much of the project needs to be serialized for the undo point. -1 means "everything changed," so everything gets serialized, every track, media item, fx, the timeline, routing, and ARA state. As you've seen, serializing the ARA state may take a while -- this is completely out of REAPER's control, all we can do is ask the plugin for its state.
If you know that your script can only have affected certain parts of the project, you can pass that information as the flag argument to Undo_EndBlock which will make it much more efficient.
UNDO_STATE_ALL -1
UNDO_STATE_TRACKCFG 1 // track/master vol/pan/routing, routing/hwout envelopes too
UNDO_STATE_FX 2 // track/master fx
UNDO_STATE_ITEMS 4 // track items
UNDO_STATE_MISCCFG 8 // loop selection, markers, regions, extensions
UNDO_STATE_FREEZE 16 // freeze state
UNDO_STATE_TRACKENV 32 // non-FX envelopes only
UNDO_STATE_FXENV 64 // FX envelopes, implied by UNDO_STATE_FX too
UNDO_STATE_POOLEDENVS 128 // contents of automation items -- not position, length, rate etc of automation items, which is part of envelope state
UNDO_STATE_FX_ARA 256 // ARA state
So if your script may have affected tracks and media items only but not FX, you could pass flag=5 (1+4) for example. If your script may have affected everything but freeze state, automation items and ARA state, you could pass flag=111 (1+2+4+8+32+64), etc.

Thank you schwa for the information
It is nice that there is a separated UNDO_STATE_FX_ARA 256
I have optimized many undo blocks now and it works
But I see a new problem... some undo blocks were still having the lag even with a 1 flag. Then I see this:
Here there is no Undo_EndBlock(). Just this code running an action, it has the same symptoms as I had with Undo_EndBlock() -1 flag:
Code:
reaper.Main_OnCommand(40702,0) -- insert at end of track list
I try to make a undo block 1 flag but it doesn't fix the problem
Code:
reaper.Undo_BeginBlock()
reaper.Main_OnCommand(40702,0) -- insert at end of track list
reaper.Undo_EndBlock("undo block test", 1)
So I suspect this is outside scripting undo block too... and it seems so:
The lag happens too when creating a new track by double clicking TCP area for example. :/

We're thinking about ways to improve the ARA undo performance, but one thing that will help for now is to set minimal undo states:
Although, there is a bug in the current build where that preference does not get applied to the ARA state when the project is re-loaded, so we'll fix that. But it should help now at least for testing.

Is anyone else having issues with ARA-Melodyne sync?
I insert it on a vocal, and the entire track is pushed forwards 3.5 measures.
Viewing the Melodyne timeline confirms that it's out of sync with the Reaper timeline by the same number of bars.

Could you share a project containing just that one track and media item to support at cockos?

@Schwa I figured it out.
The project had a non-zero Project Start Time. It looks like Melodyne anchors its timeline based on the Project Start Time, because when I reset it to zero everything was synchronized!
This is for sure undesirable behaviour, even if it's a simple fix.

Yeah, just an FYI here because this has come up before. Anyone working in film will never have a start time of zero. Ever.

I use VI Proliferator, a js plugin by ijijn, and with this latest pre the gui is partially missing.
The gui is fine when I reverted to v5.965
W10 x64
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=175414
This is a link to the VI folio thread. You can see that VI proliferator has a grid as the main gui element, it's this grid that has disappeared in the new pre

By the way, the mixer configuration in the form of a pseudo-inspector with the only visible channel is also flawed for the same reason: dragging a plug-in from the mixer slot to the track panel always causes the mixer scrolling. I think that toggle command "Never ever scroll the mixer with a mouse drag" would solve the problem.
