Don't give up yet, it's probably something very simple that's being overlooked.
Take things a step at a time, try not to do too much all at once.
We were trying to figure out the deal with you not being able to watch the Reaper videos while you had Reaper open, that should be a fairly easy fix.
With the Realtek set as your default audio device in Windows, are you still having that same problem?
