This isn't a script; it's a plugin. If you're trying to use it as a script, that's your problem.
If you need assistance getting the plugin installed in the correct directory, and loading the plugin in your project, let me know. (If you already know this, I don't mean to offend you. I just want to be sure you know what it is, just in case.)
Another suggestion: attach a very simple sample project to a post, that people who use Mac can try. Use only built-in Reaper plugins (ReaSynth for instance), plus that legato plugin. If you can't make that legato plugin work with Reaper's own VSTi on your Mac system, but it works on other Mac systems, then you would be closer to discovering the source of the problem.
Also mention the version of Reaper you're using.
