Hmm... A non portable install should look in the install folder first, but if you then save a track template it "should" go to appdata. I'm curious as to that behavior though because I just installed both freshly in XP and even then the AppData folder populated once I started saving settings but not before. I assume it is the correct appdata folder... Just scractin my head here, that's all.
On the other point, yep, its simpler than I explained (if that's the one you mean) but some other questions in another post prompted the paranoid, extra thorough version.
