When considering performance on a laptop, keep in mind that laptops don't dissipate heat very well so by design, they're going to run a bit slower. Also, since all the components are embedded, (audio, video, etc.) you're adding CPU overhead to run those components.
From what I've seen on other posts, laptops seem to work well for recording, but then seem to have trouble keeping up when it comes to mixing, depending on how big the project is.
