See the default config file. You can now make patterns like this:

LAST_TOUCHED_FX_PARAM_VALUE n/fxparam/last_touched/value s/fxparam/last_touched/value/str
Which will send a normalized (0-1) value for the first pattern, and a string value for the second pattern.
