Despite i'm highly interested to read on to understand how things work and can be done in shortcircuit (thanks again Ted for posting this tutorial) i just want to mention that there are Battery map files too in "kit" format.
According to the ShortCircuit's specifications regarding the sample/instrument import features "NI battery kits (partial)." i assume that could be useful?

Additionally i have discovered a tool "translator".
Maybe you guys know it already. But for me it was new.
It's a universal sampler file converter. There's a free version available.

It's able to convert to shortcircuit format (*.scg, *.scm).
