I know math, I know what a logarithm is (and so do developers) - and also, natural logarithm is not called "natural" because it's found in nature It is not wrong to do it how Reaper does it. It's just another way of doing things. Just like there are many ways of doing the same thing in math, too.


Also, I will argue that a live performer most certainly doesn't slow down by any mathematical formula, it can be very nonlinear and not even logarithmic, depending on how he/she feels at the moment.

Who are you (or anyone else) to say that it's wrong? In Reaper it makes sense because timeline is ALWAYS LINEAR TIME. That is how it was concieved from the get go. If you cannot understand this, and cannot understand why this ISN'T wrong, it's hard to continue this discussion.

In Cubase, you can choose the timeline mode to be linear time or linear beats. Reaper doesn't have this option. That doesn't mean it's wrong (since obviously Cubase also has an option for linear time!).
