Thanks, yea that's what I usually do. But then I changed the tones somewhat afterward. I'm pretty sure I changed the amp and speaker sim on most of the tracks. I played along to a single mic recording from 20 years ago to keep the feel and then added bass and drums.
When I started to mix the guitars weren't sounding very good. I'd recorded them a couple years ago and I think some of the impulses had gone missing. I'd bought some new sims since then that I thought would work better anyway, so I spent some time dialing em in long after I finished the recordings.
