Sorry, some threads got crossed in my poor brain, you're on PC, not Mac...
- What is your USB MIDI keyboard?
- Do you have another application to test its general function?
- If it shows up in Preferences->MIDI Devices, can you select it in the track input menu and are you getting the red MIDI data indicator when the track is armed for record and you play it? (Ignore the error message for now)
