This issue has been discussed before, and it's very obviously a Kontakt bug. Supposedly Reaper can't help.
With an older Kontajt version, I had it several times (and reproducible) when trying to delete a Kontakt Instrument group in Kontakt. In some cases pressing ESC could get me running again, but I was unable to do the deletion.
It got better with a more recent Kontakt version, but yesterday I had the Problem again, and ESC did not help, either.
