Yes, don't put any plugins into the folder with all the ReaSuite plugins. You'll know them by their "Rea" prefixes in their names.

A thought occurred to me: did you check the list of dependencies before installing Reaper? I knew my system met all the dependencies in advance.

Also have you tried other Linux VST plugins to see if they are "invisible" to Reaper as well? Try Airwindows plugins for instance.
