Actually, to your point, it looks like here:
https://www.akg.com/on/demandware.st...r_Patterns.pdf The polar pattern doesn't appear to be perfectly symmetrical. So, maybe you're right about that. This isn't the exact model I used, but it's a modern version of it, so I think they should be similar in this respect.
