Hello. If REAPER allows us to use folder tracks to set a volume balance between groups of instruments
then this feature is missing:
an option for a child track' post-fader send level to be controlled not only by its own volume fader,
but by volume fader of the folder track as well.
Because when we change the volume of a folder track it doesn't affect child tracks' volume faders. And therefore child tracks' post-fader send levels fail to change accordingly.

And I think it shouldn't matter how many levels deep a child track is.
Its post-fader send level should react to volume changes of any folder track it's in.
