A few more for the PT guys who need the speed and still wanna feel at home. The advantage of these, is that you just have to hover the mouse over the area you wish to apply the action then hit the shortcut key as apposed to clicking the area, then applyng the shortcut key. Your editing will fly with this method. I'll include both PT and Reaper lingo:
Trim Start to Insertion/Trim items left of cursor
Shortcut: A
Actions:
Item: select item under mouse cursor
View: move edit cursor to mouse cursor (no snapping)
Item: Trim items left of cursor
Item: Unselect All Items
Trim End to Insertion/Trim items right of cursor
Shortcut: S
Actions:
Item: select item under mouse cursor
View: move edit cursor to mouse cursor (no snapping)
Item: Trim items right of cursor
Item: Unselect All Items
Fade to Start (available if no selection)/Fade items into cursor
