First I want to say that Andy is just wrong. If you adjust gain on the preamp so that both the dynamic and condenser are at the same level, then they're at the same level. Period. If that level is enough to cause one to feedback, the other will feedback too.

This is exactly the same as the myth that condenser mics pick up more room noise in a studio environment. Just plain false.

I'd like to ask the other folks exactly what is the difference between "ringing out" by hand and using one of the automagical things? In both cases you're introducing notches and compromising the frequency response of the system that you worked so hard to perfect. It's just that one method takes a bit more time and effort on your part. No?
