Item tail length

Hi again !

In the preferences you can define the tail length in milliseconds
for stem rendering/freezing/applying track and take FX.

But wouldn't it be better to have something like a threshold slider (like in a gate) ?

And additionally an on/off switch (with dedicated on/off actions in the action list),
for example for MIDI items, where in most cases i don't want to have a tail when i apply a track/take FX ?

Long reverb and delay tails would cut below a specific threshold and not after a specific time.

At the moment, no matter which tail length i use, it never feels right.
It's too long or too short. Depends on which FX i use. Also this static setting is not good for item fx, where the tail cuts off suddenly/unmusically.
Beside some rare cases i never want a tail for midi items, so here an on/off switch would be great. (Edit: I'm talking here about applying midi FX to midi items.)
