Slow Mixer scrolling

Scrolling using the left and right arrow buttons in the Mixer is extremely slow. Needs about 3 seconds to scroll one track!?

The scrolling speed increases with the number of tracks.

Few tracks = slow scrolling
Many tracks = faster scrolling

I use scrollbar anyways (or mousewheel hover over scrollbar), but yeah, confirmed. Could use a bump in speed.

FYI: on my MBP it takes a less than one second to scroll sideways by one track, but it indeed is still scrolling too slow imho.

Also, when clicking in the empty space (if there is any, of course) adjacent to the scrollbar in the mixer, imho the display should not scroll, but rather 'jump sideways', just as the scrollbar in all other windows (main window, fx chain window, MIDI editor window, etc.) do (which thus would result in a much more consistent user experience, which also makes *much* more sense, to me at least).

Moreover, since the arrows on the ends of the scrollbar already cover (slow) scrolling, having the scrollbar also (slowly) scroll when clicking the empty space next to it is simply redundant (well, *almost completely* redundant - as I do notice a slight difference in scrolling speed. Not that is of any use whatsoever to have two slightly different scrolling speeds that are both too slow, though).

(Should that be a separate FR?)

System dependant scrolling speed, anyone?

I get one track per 2-3 seconds, as it was before. -_-'

I'd mark this issue as NOT entirely fixed, looking at different speeds achieved on three different machines. Or an explanation why is it this way.

- This is not depending on the Reaper version, speeds are the same on 2.58
- UI element scaling slows down the scrolling, I get 20 tracks/sec with scaling 1.0 and 15 at 0.8

Platform dependent issue. "Don't do that, then". :) (http://catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/D/D...hat-then-.html)

Reason found:

The scrolling speed increases with the number of tracks.

Few tracks = slow scrolling
Many tracks = faster scrolling

"Adaptive scrolling speed". Sophisticated stuff!

How about implementing "unified scrolling speed", then? :)

Well, this really isn't bothering me, since I use mouse scrollwheel anyways, but could be confusing for somebody else.

Definitely. I can live with it but if someone feels the need maybe he can start a FR to ask for 3 modes when scrolling: Slow, Normal and Fast: where Slow will scroll half a track, Normal a whole track and Fast 2 tracks. Now, where's my macro? :D

Sorry I think I got a little confused here, I set this to "fix coming soon" thinking that was the status before I set it to "Fixed". Turns out it was not.
