midi quantize doesn't last
when midi items are saved in .mid files, quantizing an item in the midi editor works at first but then the item will sometimes revert to non-quantized state

I noticed when midi items were saved as .mid files and then quantized, they would sometimes later become un-quantized. I believe it can be reproduced as follows.

1 - set Media/MIDI preferences to Create new MIDI items as .MID files
2 - create a project and "save as" somewhere
3 - create a new track with virtual instrument e.g. ReaSynth
4 - record a midi item (with a few events from a keyboard) and select Save All
5 - double click the item to bring up the midi editor
6 - select View menu then Quantize
7 - click OK on the "quantize events" box (or even Commit first) and (optionally) close the midi editor
8 - click on your Windows desktop (outside the reaper window) so the midi events are not visible within the item (the OFFLINE display)
9 - click on the reaper window again so it is active again. The item is no longer quantized.

I have uploaded a project; to reproduce using this project start at step 5

I am using reaper 4.402, Windows 7 SP 1, Dell Precision desktop

Hi

I think u should open a post im the bugs part of the forum...

I believe u have to commit the quant first. All daws that do nondestructive quantization require this before export. At least the ones i know.

oops i should have read more closely..sry
