The delay with send automation faders, as in the original issue, appears to be fixed in 3.23pre1. FX automation faders may still have some delay, depending on the particular FX and parameter.

Not for me (3.23pre2). Maybe it git improved a bit but overall it's still VERY sluggish. Just drag it a bit faster (same in CTRL+Drag mode) ...

It's not at all sluggish here. Test case is empty project, two tracks, send from one to the other, envelope for send volume, make time selection, move automation fader.
Perhaps upload an example project if your case is different?

I found the culprit (same test project as yours):
REAPER window maximized (1920x1200 Pixels @ 32bit on nVidia GeForce 7600GS) => sluggish send faders
REAPER window small (800x600 Pixels @ 32bit on nVidia GeForce 7600GS) => faders not sluggish
I guess this is because of too slow envelope drawing (code) in the arrange!?

All else being equal it will take 4x longer to draw an area 4x as large. I'll close the original bug report, as there was faulty behavior that caused far too much to be redrawn on moving automation faders. The faulty behavior is fixed, further optimizations are always possible but I don't think qualify as a bug report.
