Drawing empty midi item bug (pencil mode).
Can't draw an empty midi item, pencil always creates a copy of last selected item.
Can't create an empty midi item via pencil tool. It always draws a copy of last selected item, even if none of them is actually selected.
Expected: pencil tool draws an empty item if no items selected.

Besides fixing the duplicate item bug, it would be great to include the two tweaks discussed in the thread above. Namely:
1) Item loop length defined by length of drawn item (currently fixed to 1-bar loop)
2) Double-click with the pencil tool duplicates Insert->New MIDI item
and a fresh new FR for the pencil tool
3) Allow drawing items from right to left (click, drag to the left, draw from the end of the item to the beginning). |

I would have said this is more an FR than a bug, but if the manual says it should draw an empty item, then it should do that :)

Maybe there's a bug in the manual then? :D
In the end it boils down to improving a potentially very useful tool for common MIDI tasks.
