'Add note to selection' mouse modifier

I have been setting up mouse modifiers in Reaper 4 but can not get the 'Add note to selection' modifier to work properly.

The expected behavior would be to click on the MIDI notes individually, and have them added one at a time to those previously selected. I'm getting the added note but in addition I'm getting several of the surrounding notes. Almost like using the <shift> modifier in Windows to grab several consecutive items in a group.

Anyone else getting this?

Thank you for the report. This behavior is consistent between the arrange and MIDI editor. "Add item to selection" and "Add note to selection" both create a contiguous block of selected items/notes, which is a typical Windows shift+click idiom.

What you want to accomplish can be done with the "toggle item selection" mouse modifier, mapped to control+click by default.
