Implement containers for audio events to simplify arrangement
Simplify the arrangement of complex audio loops made up of several samples
Cubase had a really cool way of grouping audio samples into a container event. This allowed me to take, say a 4-bar loop of a complicated drum hits, and surround it in a container which I could then drag around and duplicate. This made arrangement easy and cleaned up the amount of clutter in the arrange window.
Some other ideas:
-In Cubase, the act of gluing two audio events would group them inside of a container, keeping the individual audio samples intact, as opposed to Reaper, which physically merges the two samples into a single sample. It would be nice to allow both.
-Rx2 files, when dragged into the project window, could by default, be grouped within a container.
-Opening a container (via double-click), could open up a new arrange window, containing a single audio lane. Here, samples can be manipulated with all of the standard arrange functions.
The exact implementation of this feature should probably be discussed, but the way Cubase does it would work for me.
