MIDI Timebase
MIDI Does not Respond to Timebase Correctly
When in Time or Beats (pos only) timebase modes, MIDI items are stretched when the tempo changes. They should not.
This makes it utterly impractical to manage tempo-flexible projects containing both midi and audio. Particularly if you do not record to a click.
Discussion: http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.p...d=1#post765375
As you can see, MIDI items change their length in these modes during tempo edits when they should not. Audio items below respond correctly.
It seems that Reaper has two separate timelines for audio and midi. Perhaps it needs a third, high resolution internal timeline to coordinate the two in a cohesive fashion? The item "containers" should reference the timeline and the midi notes ought to reference the position of the container. Just a thought.
