Default How Rename MIDI File?

I just had to restore my music drive after it failed. For some reason my cloud backup didn't restore to my new drive (named the same thing), but chose to dump every thing on my desktop.

I've copied all my files over successfully, except for one MIDI file that's too long to copy.... and won't let me change the name in either Windows Explorer, or FTP! What's up with that? How can I rename the file?

In case there are any special characters in the file name, get rid of those first when trying to change the name.

Otherwise try using the Command Prompt (cmd.exe):

Or check out something like this:

Thanks for the reply. I tried the windows command line and it said I had the wrong syntax. Then I got the idea to open the project this file is in and see if it even asks for it.... uh, nope. Problem solved. Why Kontact would actually name a file something like this is beyond me:

"MIDI file generated by Native Instruments Kontakt - MIDI file generated by Native Instruments Kontakt - MIDI file generated by Native Instruments Kontakt - 06 8th Hat Closed_mid render 001_mid render 001_mid render 001.mid"
