I get sound thru my monitor but nothing and no metering from Reaper.My VST drums work fine on another track just can't get the guitars to come in. Now the front mic inputs work just fine. I just have no luck with spdif. Any suggestions? I am a relatively new user of Reaper and I am having trouble with plugins.

Basically in the "Add FX to ..." dialogue, the Cockos section of the plugins section is empty.

There are several reaxxxdll.rpl files in the Plugins/Fx directory which is where I believe Reaper looks.

I am using Reaper 4.22 on Windows 7 32 bit. Reinstall hasn't solved the problem.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I figured this was the best forum to post this in. I use Reaper through Windows 7 64bit, my computer is an HP Pavilion Slimline Desktop. Im having a terrible time with exporting/rendering and the sound quality of my songs.

I spend a lot of time recording and mixing the songs carefully, only to have the sound quality derailed when exporting/rendering them out of Reaper. I used to use Magix Music Studio 12 Deluxe a while back and never had that problem before. That program isnt compatible with 64 bit OS's so I decided to take on Reaper.

I usually render to mp3. I know that this format isnt known for quality, but Ive never had this problem at all with the last program. My tracking/mixing room is treated and I used Equator D5 Monitors(pair). Im fairly certain that the songs are getting jacked up through the rendering process after trying to troubleshoot why the mixes sounded bad.

I searched around, and it seems that a lot of people have this same problem, mixes coming out sounding different, certain instruments sounding strange, phasy. In my case the vocals come out sounding more telephonic in the mid range and of course its not as loud.

Im recording 24 bit 44.1 samplerate and exporting the same. I attempted to use Foobar and render the projects as FLACs and convert them to mp3 though foobar, but Im having issues with the LAME encoder there, it keeps telling me that theres an error. Im hoping you guys can shine some light and help me keep my sound quality as close as possible.

Ill have to export as WAV and see if the problem is still there. My concern is that when I go to burn it to a CD for the mixtape, that eventually it will have to go to mp3 anyways. Is that accurate? Its so frustrating to have this hurdle stopping me from moving forward, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've been busy with some new material, since I've invested in some new gear.
However, what annoys the hell out of me is the constant clipping of Reaper, and I have to turn everything down by -20dB to not clip...

This however sounds really quiet on my monitor system, even when I've cranked my monitors up all the way. My Superior Drummer is also clipping like a madman, and when I turn it down, it also gets near the point of inaudible at normal monitor levels. The drums ARE processed with compressors, trying to crank up the volume without clipping, but I can't get this thing right...

There is just no life or power in my mix anymore..

I'm also getting a hard time trying to get the guitar submix right, any tips on that? :)

I can't find appropriate action for such task and now wonder if this can be achieved by ReaScript
